Mekudeshet". The film (Hebrew with English subtitles) paints a devastating portrait of the struggle of three women to obtain a divorce in the rabbinical courts. The film will be followed by a discussion with attorney
Susan Weiss, an expert in the field of family law.

March 19, 2005 - After Film Symposium: "What Can Be Done?" - Agunot and Mesuravot Get
Rabbi Diana Villa of the
Center for Women in Jewish Law at the Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies will survey the possible solutions for the problems of women who have been refused or are unable to obtain a Jewish divorce.
Tanya Zion, Educational Director of
Amutat Mavoi Satum will discuss pre-nuptial agreements and how to avoid the problem of agunot and mesuravot get through educating towards equality, respest and partnership.
This program will be held at Beit Knesset Moreshet Yisrael, in cooperation with the Forum of Masorti Congregations, the Fuchsberg Center, Marom, and Mavoi Satum.
